Pathways to Middle School
We know that choosing a new school, especially in middle school, is a big decision. The Pathways to Middle School program exists because we believe a Waldorf education shouldn't be out of reach for families who want it.
New families enrolling in Grades 6, 7, or 8 for the 2026–2027 school year receive 50% off tuition for their first year.
That brings your total yearly cost from $16,680 to $8,340 — or as low as $771 per month over 10 installments. The discount is applied automatically at enrollment. No separate application, no extra steps.
For the years that follow, WSB's Tuition Affordability Program is available to families with demonstrated financial need. Aid is assessed confidentially through our third-party partner, Smart Aid, and all final decisions are made by WSB with your family's specific circumstances in mind. We will walk you through the process every step of the way so there are no surprises. Our goal is simple: if Waldorf is the right fit for your child, cost shouldn't be the only thing standing in the way. a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Payment Information
PAYMENT OPTIONS:
ANNUAL: Tuition paid in full in June, for a 1% discount
SEMI-ANNUAL: 1st half paid in June; 2nd half paid in November
MONTHLY: 10 or 12 monthly installments beginning in June
Mid-year enrollment is pro-rated through the end of the school year. Families can pay monthly, or in a single payment.
All tuition assistance arrangements will apply to this agreement accordingly.

Already thousands of children in the United States have experienced Waldorf education and are contributing to social transformation in the world. One of the main challenges for Waldorf schools in North America is finding a way to include children from all economic levels in society while maintaining Waldorf schools as independent and self-administered schools. Our task is to work in a manner that is consistent with the goal of becoming a source of social change.
HOW TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
To apply for financial aid at our school, you will complete the SSS financial aid application (also referred to as the Parents’ Financial Statement or PFS) and submit the required documents indicated below within the SSS Family Portal.
To make our decision, we use the information from your SSS application as a starting point and consider our school policies, practices, and available budget and will communicate our decision as soon as possible.

WSB’s Tuition Affordability Program is a way of making this education accessible to all families who value it. Through the tuition affordability program, the acceptance of a child into the school does not depend solely on the financial resources of the child’s family. Making this education accessible to more families is a step in working with a threefold understanding of Waldorf education.
First, we honor the path that has led the child and family to the school. Second, recognizing that the family who may need tuition adjustment will stretch to meet the needs of the school and that the school will stretch to meet the needs of the family. And third, recognizing that we need each other to thrive and prosper.
Our tuition affordability program at WSB does not lessen the strong sense of fiscal responsibility. In fact it requires thorough budget preparation and ongoing review for continuous progress and the achievement of goals based on the values and ideals of Waldorf education.

In addition to our Smart Aid application process, the Waldorf School of Bend also accepts Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) and Department of Human Services (DHS) childcare subsidy payments.
