Early Childhood Teachers

The Waldorf School of Bend is GROWING! We are looking for qualified and experienced teachers to join our early childhood faculty at all levels (lead, assistant, and substitute.)


About Us

Our Early Childhood teachers are responsible for providing a beautiful space and a supportive weekly and yearly rhythm within the classroom. This offers a secure, healthy, and nurturing environment for children. The weekly rhythm includes age-appropriate circle times, stories, creative and active play, and time for nourishment. The yearly rhythm is centered around seasonal festivals and special activities, such as decorating pumpkins in the Fall or planting flowers in the Spring.

We are an Associate member of AWSNA with a WECAN approved early childhood program. We are a Certified Childcare Center in the state of Oregon and have also been designated as an Emergency Childcare Facility for the duration of the COVID-19 Pandemic.



The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities and experience working with young children and their families. They will be intuitive, demonstrate flexible thinking, possess strong classroom management skills, and work collaboratively with their colleagues. They will also have a deep appreciation for developing their parent community through parent meetings, class offerings, and support through the developmental milestones of childhood. Most importantly, they will have a love for the sanctity of early childhood and a determination to preserve it for children.

Prior training and knowledge of Waldorf Education are preferred, with the expectation that hired candidates will continue to attend professional development opportunities to deepen their understanding of Waldorf education. 

Position Details

We require all teachers to have and maintain an ORO account and be registered in the Central Background Registry. Additional training include but are not limited to:

-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect
-Introduction to Childcare Health and Safety
-Food Handlers and CPR/First Aid

Substitute Teachers

Waldorf School of Bend is looking for energetic and motivated substitute teachers to work with students from Pre-K through 8th grade. The best candidates for substitute teacher jobs have a bachelor’s degree, first aid/CPR training and enjoy working with children. They are flexible and have some sort of education/teaching experience. Successful candidates will have to undergo a background check.
